Software Engineering Manager – New Microsoft focussed Engineering Team – Southwest Hybrid with a team meet up 2 times per month (travel expenses covered) We are looking for an Engineering Manager based in the Southwest or Midlands to join a newly formed software team. The business is going through significant technological changes, which include the development of several new-to-market products, re-platforming some of its core services, and building out a new UK team that will drive technology innovation across the wider organisation. This Microsoft specialist team (10-15 people) will leverage the latest Azure technologies, along with C#, Blazor, and RESTful APIs, to deliver substantial technological change across the organisation. Anyone joining this team should be passionate about modern software engineering practices, including Agile delivery, Test-Driven Development (TDD), DevOps, and cloud-first services. Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring high-quality project delivery. Drive technical initiatives to enhance product capabilities and reduce technical debt. Helping teams to grow, build resilience, solve challenges, and provide them with access to training needs whilst encouraging and adopting best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape product features and solutions. Provide guidance, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency. Expertise in software solution creation and a strong understanding of automation. Excellent communication, time management, and prioritisation skills. A passion for driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of innovation. Experience with scalable, enterprise-level software development practices.
