Lead Software Engineer

Take on a brand-new role with a sector-leading international SaaS software company headquartered in the UK, 50% hands on and 50% management. Lead a small, growing front-end engineering team, driving engineering best practices to take quality of code, efficiency and scalability to new heights, whilst also being hands-on and adding immeasurable value from your own extensive front-end engineering experience. Required experience for the Lead Front-End Engineer role: Solid background in front-end software engineering, with proven experience in React and Typescript, plus of course HTML and CSS – ideally also Storybook exposure too – creating, leading and delivering complex front-end projects from the start to completion A strong understanding of core web and browser concepts, including secure web design practices Experience improving test automation standards and tools within front-end teams, with a passion for steering engineering teams towards Continuous Delivery Experience with AWS cloud and API-based concepts Exposure to collaborating with a product design team, contributing to (ideally Figma) designs and transforming them into functional and visually stunning interfaces. The preferred character for this Lead Front-End Engineer role will be someone with a positive, proactive mindset and approach who confidently takes ownership for projects and the evolution of people in their team as a leader with natural instincts to guide, teach and support their team, with sound communication skills and the ability to easily communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The package offered to Lead Front-End Engineer will consist of a base salary between £90,000-£115,000 plus bonus; a hybrid, flexible working set up from the London office; and benefits including a generous holiday allowance, a well-stocked office kitchen with free meals, private healthcare and more.
