Role: Secure Platform Research Engineer Location: On-site - Bristol, UK Salary: Circa £45K base Type: 9 month fixed term contract Our client is a leading Fortune 50 technology solutions provider to consumers, businesses and institutions globally. They have an exciting opportunity as a Secure Platform Research Engineer to join their Security Lab. This role is centered around designing platform security for endpoint devices, with a strong focus on hardware-firmware co-design and developing robust hardware roots of trust. You will collaborate with business R&D teams to align development strategies with business impact. Key Responsibilities: Develop new hardware and firmware security architectures. Build prototypes to validate and demonstrate feasibility. Document architectural and technical designs. Validate use cases with end-users and business partners. Work in a fast-paced environment with rapid iteration and evolution. Job Requirements: Experience with hardware and firmware technologies (e.g., x86, ARM, UEFI, PCIe, DMA). Strong knowledge of computer architecture. Solid engineering skills. Interest in or knowledge of endpoint security. Ability to convey technical knowledge to both technical and non-technical teams. Preferred Skills: Systems security expertise. Knowledge of enterprise IT management (device and security). Understanding of OS kernel and hypervisor security.
