Database Administrator Requisition ID 2024-11009 of Openings 1 Category Information Systems Location US-FL-Tampa Overview ExamWorks is seeking a Database Administrator to work onsite in the Tampa, FL office location. The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the company's databases. Ensures the database is effective for all users and requires a sustainable long term plan for support requirements. Responsibilities Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security Map out the conceptual design for a planned database in outline Consider both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users Refine the logical design so it can be translated into a specific data model Further refine the physical design to meet system storage requirements Install and test new versions of the database management system (DBMS) Maintain data standards Contribute to Data Governance program Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata) Control access permissions and privileges Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans Ensure storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly Capacity planning Work closely with IT project managers and application developers Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security Commissioning and installing new applications and customizing existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose Administer all production, test and development databases which includes extensive replication Along with the software development team, this person will also: Maintain and develop ETL processes using SSIS and stored procedures Maintain and develop a data warehouse for online analytic processing (OLAP) and cube development Maintain and develop reports utilizing SSRS Qualifications Bachelor's degree in one of the following subject areas preferred: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field 3 years IT operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices required. Must have good understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments Must have experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques Prior knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices Must have good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives Must have technical documentation skills Ability to work effectively with co-workers by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner, be able to listen to and objectively consider ideas and suggestions from others Must be self-motivated and self-directed Must have proven experience at identifying problems and delivering assistance to resolve them Must be able to maintain confidentiality Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team-oriented environment WHO WE ARE ExamWorks is a leading provider of innovative healthcare services including independent medical examinations, peer reviews, bill reviews, Medicare compliance, case management, record retrieval, document management and related services.
