Software Product Technology Manager Location: Bristol As a Software Technology Manager, you will work with key customers to define and prioritize requirements for software enablement and optimization, and develop strategies to deliver these solutions in collaboration with internal teams and our broader software ecosystem. Our Central Engineering Software group plays a bridging role across various technologies. You will join a team of technology managers addressing the growing demand for software solutions across multiple market segments. Job Overview: We are responsible for shaping the roadmap and vision for software development, configuration, optimization, productization, and delivery. This includes developing strategies around both new and existing software components to support products across various platforms. We gather use cases and requirements to address the needs of complex systems, and engage with open-source communities to highlight opportunities for collaboration. Our team also creates product plans to ensure successful deployment of software solutions to partners. By understanding software communities, development practices, and release methodologies, we align the software lifecycle with hardware products to deliver comprehensive solutions. Responsibilities: Evaluate the full value chain, including end customers, manufacturers, and designers of hardware, software, and systems. This includes productization, support, and quality assurance. Gather specific market segment needs and translate them into actionable product plans. Collaborate with internal engineering teams and software vendors to prioritize features and enhancements that meet customer needs. Conduct competitive analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of software-based solutions versus competitors. Advocate for the software offering in open-source communities, and engage customers and sales teams through meetings and training sessions. Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience in creating and managing software requirements, preferably in a product delivery context, with an understanding of how these requirements are validated and delivered to meet quality standards. Strong communication skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and collaborate with team members, customers, and suppliers to formulate and implement strategic plans. Hands-on software development experience (e.g., firmware, operating systems, or application development). Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as an integral member of both local and globally distributed teams.
