Pricipal DSP Software Engineer - Semiconductor - Edinburgh, Scotland We have partnered with one of the largest Semiconductor manufacturing companies for cellular, automotive systems, and microcontrollers now looking for a DSP Engineer to join their team in Edinburgh. Job Summary: The role involves the design, development, integration, evaluation, and verification of DSP audio filters and algorithms, as well as DSP embedded solutions. Candidates will be expected to deliver high-quality design, code, and tests within agreed timelines while ensuring customer acceptance of solutions that comply with specifications. The position requires the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and maintain thorough technical documentation alongside managing code maintenance and reuse. Qualifications: Essential: Strong understanding of DSP, MCU, IC, and audio codec architectures. Proficiency in embedded architectures and real-time embedded software. Skilled in real-time embedded C/C++ programming and DSP algorithm development. Effective problem-solving and debugging capabilities. Competence in Python and/or MATLAB. Knowledge of fixed-point implementation and software development workflows. Ability to report bugs using issue-tracking tools like JIRA. Experience working under tight schedules and meeting deadlines. Strong communication skills for a multi-site and multicultural environment. Desirable: Experience with audio, digital filtering, and portable audio applications (e.g., headphones, wireless earbuds). Background in optimizing DSP solutions for low footprint, low latency, and low power. Previous team or technical leadership experience. Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Jenkins. Experience using SystemC.
