Subtitling Coordinator

Reporting to: Manager, Media Coordination Hours of work: 2-3 days a week, to be agreed Company Overview: Encompass Digital Media (‘Encompass’) is a global managed services company focused on supporting TV networks, broadcasters, sports leagues and digital platforms with the delivery of their linear/nonlinear video and audio content across television, radio and digital platforms. Using our Altitude Media Cloud Platform, we host a full suite of digital products, including Playout, Over the Top (OTT) streaming, Video on Demand (VOD) processing, Storage and IP distribution, to enable a seamless user experience for many of the globes biggest Media and Entertainment organizations. Daily, we service 1,200 channels; capture, process and deliver 31,000 hours of TV/OTT; stream 6,300 hours of TVE/OTT content; and acquire/distribute 275 live events for our clients worldwide. Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, Encompass operates multiple broadcast facilities across four continents including facilities located in Argentina, Ascension Island, Latvia, Oman, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States of America. Main Purpose: Supporting the NENT Media Coordination Team in delivering a highly efficient service to clients and internal departments. Principal Responsibilities: Re-cutting subtitles and ensuring formatting guidelines are followed: Editing Scandinavian subtitles so that they conform to edited video versions. Re-cutting subtitles after video upgrades Spot checking subtitles for different platforms Converting subtitles from different formats Monitoring schedules and order deadlines in our workflow management system to ensure subtitles are uploaded on time and with the correct ISO tag Querying wrong subtitle language requirements with the relevant departments Creating and tracking purchase orders for subtitles with the relevant vendors Liaising with a range of stakeholders including clients, colleagues and vendors to ensure subtitles meet our clients’ QC standards and are received within the required timescales Communicating delivery issues with relevant stakeholders Dealing with client queries to ensure they are resolved according to client expectations and in a timely manner Monitoring and updating Jira tickets Identifying and flagging subtitle workflow issues to the relevant departments and actively contributing to improving existing workflows Assisting the wider department with ad hoc tasks and collaborating on special projects Follow standard operating procedures to ensure that client’s standards are met and build client relationship to deliver an excellent service Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all relevant regulations and internal company policies Knowledge & Experience: Knowledge of translation/subtitles along with subtitling software knowledge are desirable, in particular Ooona High level of numeracy with excellent attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also essential Experience of dealing with clients Ability to thrive under pressure in a busy working environment Good working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases (i.e. Microsoft Excel) Computer literacy is essential Personal skills required: The candidate should be proactive and able to work independently but also needs to be good at working within a team It is essential that the candidate can adapt to a fast-changing environment To have a positive attitude towards the company, work, colleagues and clients Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Innovative approach to work and problem-solving To be willing to learn and adapt to new work process, technology and systems Excellent attention to detail Self-motivated with an ability to show initiative Committed to continuous improvement
