Job Summary We are looking for a passionate and skilled Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team and ensure the reliable operation of our systems in retail environments. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by performing on-site installation, customer training, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of our products efficiently and promptly. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and calibrate DIGI retail systems and related equipment on-site at the customer’s location. Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates at peak performance. Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues promptly and effectively. Provide end-user training and support to customers on the system as required. Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records. Maintain detailed service records and ensure timely reporting. Be available for after-hours on-call service when required. Collaborate with the DIGI Canada support team to resolve complex issues. Build strong relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service. Identify and provide feedback on potential sales opportunities. Maintain a service vehicle and actively participate in the service forum. Stay current on technical service news bulletins and new products. Able to work in shifts. Overnight stays out of town may be required occasionally. Early starts are typical. Stand, squatting, and kneeling in various environments for long periods required Driving long distances between customer locations Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools, and equipment Qualifications and Skills Technical diploma or equivalent in electronics, mechanical, or a related field. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals. Experience with hardware and software troubleshooting (1-3 years preferred). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English. Communication skills in French is an asset. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within your region. Knowledge of retail technology systems is an asset. Enjoy traveling and working in the field. Competency in Excel, Access, and Word programs. General knowledge of networking, specifically TCP/IP, WiFi networks Note: The candidate must be based in either Hamilton, Cambridge, or Kitchener, Ontario.
