Head of Engineering – AI & Scalable Systems

Relocation to Poland - Full relocation covered for candidate and family for 3 months Salary: 260,000 - 280,000 EUR total package (dependent on experience) We’re supporting a global tech-first organisation searching for a senior engineering leader to help shape the future of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). This role offers a unique opportunity to drive large-scale innovation across distributed systems, next-gen AI models, and product infrastructure. You will lead and grow high-performing engineering teams (20 FTEs) while scaling new platforms that operate at the bleeding edge of cloud-native architecture and intelligent systems. What You’ll Be Doing Leadership at Scale: Direct and inspire multiple engineering teams working on complex, distributed AI systems. Innovation Driver: Translate ambitious technical roadmaps into reality, fostering a culture of invention, experimentation, and operational excellence. Architecture Oversight: Drive system-level design, ensure scalability, reliability, and performance in all technical solutions. Product & Platform Thinking: Collaborate closely with product and research leads to deliver customer-obsessed, data-driven outcomes. People Development: Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers, cultivate talent, and manage performance within a high-bar culture. About You Proven experience leading engineering organisations of 20–30 people within high-scale, high-performance environments. Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure), and large-scale software design . Clear examples of driving technical innovation and shaping the direction of AI/ML or intelligent platforms. Skilled in creating alignment across product, research, and engineering – with a track record of turning strategy into shippable results .
