The Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Engineer develops innovative Generative AI solutions based on technologies, tools, algorithms, and methods from the Generative AI field. The GenAI Engineer works on solutions from ideation through prototyping, production deployment and operations. Major Tasks and Responsibilities Implement generative AI use cases that bring measurable economic benefit to Covestro by designing and implementing suitable generative AI solution architectures, including software design and Cloud architectures. Work on use cases throughout the entire lifecycle of generative AI products, such as development and implementation of prototypes, minimum viable products (MVP) as well as in supporting the products in the operational phase. Select and evaluate proposals from external solution providers and consulting companies in terms of their effectiveness and usefulness. Join and contribute to internal communities of practice to shape the generative AI tech-stack of Covestro. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field with 6 years' experience; OR Master's degree with 4 years' experience; OR PhD with 2 years' experience At least 4 years of experience with at least one software development language and Cloud technologies (preferably AWS) Knowledge and Skills Experience with generative AI frameworks, runtimes, and foundational models like RAG, Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Vector Databases, and LangChain Experience in a programming language like Python or TypeScript Knowledge about AWS Serverless technologies like Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS, and SQS Knowledge about Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, etc.) Ability to present and effectively communicate to colleagues from different departments and levels.
