Responsibilities: System Administration: Installing, configuring, and patching Oracle Solaris operating systems on SPARC servers. Managing user accounts, groups, and permissions. Monitoring system performance and resource utilization. Performing system backups and recovery operations. Managing system boot processes and shutdown procedures. Security Patching Storage Management: Managing ZFS file systems on SPARC servers, including data redundancy and performance optimization. Implementing and managing disk mirroring and RAID configurations. Network Administration: Configuring network interfaces and managing network connectivity on SPARC servers. Implementing network security policies. Performance Tuning: Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks on SPARC systems. Optimizing system parameters for specific workloads. Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues on SPARC servers. Analyzing system logs and identifying potential problems. Security: Implementing and maintaining security best practices on SPARC systems. Managing user access controls and system hardening procedures. Required Skills: In-depth knowledge of Oracle Solaris operating system administration.
