Job Title: Scrum Master – Trading & Risk Technology Location: Toronto (Hybrid – must be comfortable working Eastern hours) An exciting opportunity to join a major global commodities trading firm undergoing its most significant technology transformation to date. The focus of this role is to support a global program of work across Trading and Risk Management, enabling the effective execution of initiatives through best-in-class agile practices. You will play a key role within the newly established PMO, providing structure and momentum to global project teams who are responsible for delivering critical change initiatives spanning technology, operations, and front-to-back trade lifecycle systems. Key Responsibilities: Act as Scrum Master for distributed teams, ensuring effective agile ceremonies and sprint delivery Drive clarity across complex workstreams and maintain focus in team meetings (e.g. ensuring stand-ups don’t become side-discussions) Own and manage Jira boards and related agile artifacts (e.g., velocity tracking, retrospectives, sprint planning) Help standardize agile delivery across cross-functional teams and act as a change agent for agile ways of working Support Program Managers, Business Analysts and Technical Teams to maintain momentum and meet key deliverables Provide structure and governance across projects involving vendors, developers, support teams, and the business Work closely with global colleagues based in UK, South Africa, and North America Key Projects: Trading and Risk Management initiatives – front-to-back trade lifecycle Integration and onboarding of new systems supporting the energy trading desk Vendor and system change projects (including ETRM platforms and associated tools) Required Skills & Experience: 5 years’ experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) Hands-on Jira experience essential, including reporting and board configuration Ability to run high-impact, focused stand-ups and push back on scope creep or misalignment Confident working in a fast-paced, global environment with multiple stakeholders Excellent organizational and communication skills Preferred but not essential: Background in trading, commodities, or capital markets (e.g., worked on Murex/ETRM-related projects) Technical understanding or previous experience in engineering-led teams Experience working with offshore and cross-functional teams Working Hours: Must be able to start early to overlap with the UK team (7 am ET typical) Flexibility to finish earlier in the day to balance the schedule Ideal candidate fit: Highly motivated and confident communicator with a proactive mindset Comfortable holding others accountable and keeping meetings focused and productive A structured thinker with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to navigate ambiguity with ease
