Job Title: RPG Developer Location: Remote Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Are you an experienced RPG Developer looking to take your career to the next level? As an RPG Developer, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting RPG-based applications within a fast-paced retail environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions that streamline operations and improve customer experiences. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain RPG programs for retail business applications. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Ensure seamless integration with existing systems, including ERP and POS solutions. Optimise and debug code for performance and functionality improvements. Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting activities. Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software on time. Essential Skills & Experience: Strong proficiency in RPG programming (RPG IV, ILE, and Free Format). Minimum 3 years’ experience working within the retail sector. Hands-on experience with AS400/iSeries systems. Strong understanding of retail business processes, including supply chain, inventory management, and sales. Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing applications. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Desirable Skills: Experience with ERP solutions in a retail environment. Knowledge of SQL and DB2 databases. Exposure to modern development practices like DevOps, CI/CD, or Cloud Technologies is a plus. Benefits: Competitive salary and bonus scheme.
