Our client is seeking a highly skilled RPG Developer who has experience with RPG versions 1, 2, 3, or 4, and also possesses front-end development experience using Java Grails. This is a unique opportunity to work on both legacy systems and modern web applications, contributing to the company's ongoing success and digital transformation. Key Responsibilities: RPG Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using RPG versions 1, 2, 3, or 4. Work on existing systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement new features as required. Java Grails Development: Contribute to front-end development projects using Java Grails, integrating modern web applications with legacy RPG systems. System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between back-end RPG systems and front-end Java Grails applications. Project Participation: Engage in full lifecycle development projects, from initial requirements gathering to deployment and post-implementation support. Code Optimization: Optimize and refactor existing RPG code to improve performance and maintainability. Documentation: Produce and maintain clear technical documentation for both RPG and Java Grails development efforts. Problem Solving: Quickly diagnose and resolve issues within both RPG and Java Grails environments. Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs. Key Requirements: RPG Experience: Strong experience in RPG development, specifically with versions 1, 2, 3, or 4. Java Grails Experience: Hands-on experience in front-end development using Java Grails, with a solid understanding of web development principles. Technical Skills: Proficiency in both RPG and Java Grails, with a strong understanding of how to bridge legacy systems with modern technologies. Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a knack for optimizing and refactoring code. Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Adaptability: Flexibility to work on both legacy and modern systems, adapting to evolving technology landscapes.
