Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and passionate UX Designer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of Energy Management System (EMS) for utility grade systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in crafting intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for real-time controls and historian type monitoring applications. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience and ensure our digital products are user-friendly and engaging. Further, you are passionate about advancing clean energy initiatives and working collaboratively in a dynamic startup like environment. Responsibilities: Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and feedback. Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for websites. Develop and maintain design specifications and style guides. Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate and frictionless implementation of designs. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in UI/UX design. Work with product managers and stakeholders to define and capture user requirements and project goals. Audit existing web properties for quality assurance and compliance with best practices. Drive UAT testing and verification. Champion automated system to UI/UX validation. Conduct A/B testing to evaluate design choices and optimize user experience. Collect metrics and survey stakeholders to ascertain the success of UX components and application as a whole Required Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3-5 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, preferably in SCADA/HMI applications and web design for Energy or similar IoT devices (in-field systems). Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Lucid chart, Miro, Adobe suite of tools (InDesign, Illustrator) nor similar. Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies. Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices. Good problem-solving and learning abilities, and focus on cutting-edge technology Good understanding of power electronics, battery management systems, and energy storage technologies. Able to work independently on assigned tasks and escalate to surface roadblocks and risk mitigation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Passion for clean technology innovation and building systems from scratch. Have domain experience with software for utility scale photovoltaic or battery energy storage systems is plus Have keen attention to detail and navigation of dependencies between user web behaviors/click patterns and user-interface artifacts/components. Prepare user manuals and document UI/UX design elements for marketing and other stakeholder engagements Familiar with Model–view–controller methodologies. Experience with web development utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is plus Additional Requirements: Familiarity with energy industry regulations, standards, and protocols. Experience with agile development methodologies and modern software engineering practices. A willingness to travel as needed to support customer engagements, and team collaboration.
