About Camber

Camber is on a mission to democratize scientific computing from astrophysics to genomics. Currently, distributed scientific workloads are nearly 100% on-premise, making computation for researchers limited in scope, with long iteration cycles. Our fully managed, infrastructure-free platform allows researchers to deploy on-demand fully managed instances for distributed scientific simulations and data analysis. We’re based in San Francisco.

Camber is seeking a highly motivated and visionary Full Stack Engineer to be a pillar in building out our user experience. As our first Full Stack Engineer you’ll bring best practices in architecting our platform and deploying on-demand compute engines. Your role is crucial in shaping the company's technical direction, driving innovation, and building a world class cloud computing platform.

Responsibilities

  • Front-End Development: Design and implement user-friendly web applications using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate designs into high-quality code, ensuring a responsive and intuitive user experience.
  • Platform Integration: Collaborate with platform developers to define and integrate APIs, ensuring smooth data flow between the client and core platform.

  • Testing and Deployment: Implement automated testing and assist in deployment processes to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Stay Updated: Be on top of emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve your skills and our products.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in full stack development, with a strong focus on front-end technologies.
  • Front-End Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue.js, or Angular).
  • Back-End Knowledge: Familiarity with server-side languages (Node.js, Go, Kotlin, Ruby, etc.) and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Problem-Solving: Strong product and analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience is equally valued.
