Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Company Description: British Wool is a farmer run organisation which was established in 1950 to operate a central marketing system for fleece wool. We collect wool from over 35,000 farms throughout the UK and prepare it for sale at auction. British Wool have eight grading depots and seven intermediate depots throughout the UK. As the IT Manager at British Wool, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and maintaining the IT infrastructure that underpins all our operations. Role Description: We are seeking a skilled and proactive person to join our 3 person IT team as the IT Manager. A varied, exciting and challenging vacancy which will require a high level of commitment, with a positive outlook to maintain and improve a robust and secure IT infrastructure for British Wool. You will report to the Head of IT. Responsibilities: Manage software and hardware projects. Run a variety of projects, such as deploying and automating updates to in-house software, MDM management, Intune management, Office 365 administration, migration to Azure, and upgrade to Windows 11. Take the lead on all Cyber Security management and remediation. Oversee Infrastructure Technology Operations. Management of patching hardware, operating systems, and software. Manage the IT Technician(s) and oversee on the helpdesk as necessary. Act as a third line point of escalation to the IT helpdesk, and cover 1 st /2 nd line as required. Contribute to the IT strategy. Work with colleagues across the business to derive and write specifications for additions and alterations to bespoke software and systems. Requirements:Essentials skills Generalist IT infrastructure skills. Cyber security identification, remediation, and future development. Microsoft Server (2016) and Client (10). Clustered Microsoft Hyper-V. HPE MSA SAN and iSCSI connectivity. SonicWALL NGFW management and administration. Proven capability managing networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN. Project Management. Cloud migration. Mimecast email and internet filtering. IP Telephony migration and administration. Driving license, car, and willingness to travel to UK sites as required. Good planning and time-management skills Effective communication with colleagues across the business, able to translate technical requirements as required. Beneficial skills Microsoft SQL. Any structured scripting or programming language experience. Business Analyst. Package: Competitive salary of between £45k-55k based on qualifications and experience. 23 days annual leave entitlement bank holidays. Rising to 28 days after two years continuous service.
