Who we are looking for As a Production Database Automation Engineer, you will work on complex automation solutions covering the work of the Production Database department for both full and assistive automation. The Production Database department is responsible for building and supporting multiple database technologies and their environments ensuring they have good performance, availability, scalability and security. With a solid foundation in software delivery, you will work within a highly skilled and friendly automation team. As a team, you will develop software solutions that will help production database in their day to day roles. The day to day work is interesting, challenging, rewarding and fast paced. This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy. Preferred skills and experience Excellent development knowledge in C#.NET and SQL Server with desirable knowledge in GoLang, Ansible and Jenkins. Commercial experience within web client or server side development. Demonstrable experience of effective communication both written and verbally in an accessible manner to both technical and business audience. Strong background working with both Windows and Linux. Experience with GitLab. Interest in database technologies. Experience with unit testing of code. Knowledge of relational databases including SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Spanner. Experience working with Scrum or other Agile software development methodologies. Main Responsibilities Implementing new features onto the existing tooling or creating new tools to aid in effective product development. Maintaining clean coding practices and ensuring high quality code. Identifying technical areas of improvement. Contributing to solution proposals. Supporting and enhancing the existing codebase. Collaborating with colleagues across the Business. Documenting completed work.
