Photonics Chip Lead

Photonics Chip Lead required to join a rapidly growing company where you will be instrumental in leading the design and testing of photonic devices while collaborating closely with other engineering teams to ensure cohesive integration and execution of their photonic technologies. RESPONSIBILITIES Translate product requirements into comprehensive technical specifications for Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), including potential development devices. Lead the planning and execution of device tapeouts, including timelines and checklists, and proactively address any blockers that may arise. Develop PIC schematics, netlists, and pinlists with input from relevant technical experts. Take full responsibility for creating and maintaining detailed PIC datasheets. Manage the tapeout process into the fabrication facility, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Provide technical leadership in managing thermal aspects of PICs at both the device and system levels. Define the software requirements for PIC calibration and control. Specify the test plan for PIC-level testing, ensuring thorough and accurate validation. Own the technical content of externally facing PIC documentation, ensuring clarity and precision. REQUIREMENTS Strong technical background in photonic devices with a deep understanding of their core properties. A solid grasp of how photonic devices integrate into larger hardware and software systems. Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges. Proven ability to drive projects and programs to successful completion, with a focus on both planning and technical execution. Highly detail-oriented, with the capability to manage and prioritize multiple topics simultaneously.
