Director of IT Procurement

The Client: Argentus is proud to be working with one of our top recent clients in the Technology space on a potentially career-making Procurement leadership role This client is a proudly Canadian technology company with a global footprint and strong growth prospects. Today, they’ve tasked Argentus to source Director who will lead the company’s global IT Procurement function The Opportunity: This individual will work remotely within Canada, supporting the company’s offices around the globe in developing and executing procurement strategies for Indirect Procurement, with an emphasis on Software and Software as a Service (SaaS). In this role, the successful candidate will lead the IT Procurement function across the organization, working to align a variety of cross-functional teams and stakeholders in delivering exceptional procurement outcomes for all IT Software and SaaS purchases, licenses and contracts. You will provide end-to-end project management for significant IT contracts, working closely with a variety of key stakeholders across the organization to deeply understand their needs, and then leading the procurement team to execute those projects through competitive processes, supplier negotiation, contracting, onboarding and ongoing vendor management. In addition, you will act as an overall subject matter expert and IT procurement guru within the organization, working within their highly entrepreneurial environment to offer strategic recommendations based on your understanding of the market and current trends. In the big picture, you will work to strategically break down silos across the organization, building the IT Procurement function into a centre of excellence that delivers exceptional value within the company as it continues to grow. The Ideal Candidate: -Our client is looking for a proven IT Procurement leader with significant experience managing complex, high-value software and SaaS projects. -Experience working within the Software industry, or more specifically experience within a SaaS organization, is a very strong asset. -In addition, the successful candidate needs to have significant people management skills and a track record of leading and coaching procurement teams to success. -Excellent communications, negotiations and relationship-building skills are also a must. -Our client is looking for a true IT procurement rockstar who can use strategic sourcing and vendor management to enable and advance the overall company strategy.
