POSITION SUMMARY



The Epic Software Release Analyst (Data Courier) will maintain change management strategies and plans that fulfill IT general controls standards, supports corporate wide SOX compliance, maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. This position will work with the Software Release Manager (Epic), IT leadership, subject matter experts, risk management, compliance and Internal Audit to maintain policies and procedures that ensure appropriate testing and documentation of Epic changes implemented through Data Courier, Nova, Sherlock or other means.


Responsibilities


  • Manage the intake, prioritization and execution of upgrades, patches, and service updates to ensure compliance to current policies and audit requirements.
  • Work with IT leadership and business leadership, develop and publish an Epic release calendar.
  • Provide oversight and management of Epic change control processes.
  • Manage the intake and management of Epic Build Migration and Release Authorizations, ensuring all changes have sufficient testing and approval to fulfill SOX requirements.Monitor compliance to existing change management practices and standards and investigate any noted violations.
  • Perform or ensure all Epic Data Courier administrative tasks are complete.
  • Create/maintain interfaces in each Epic environment.
  • Troubleshoot Data Courier package issues as reported by the analysts.
  • Define and enforce Data Courier migration freeze periods as need for upgrades and activations.
  • Conduct upgrade dry run tests and assist with Data Courier load balancing efforts.



Qualifications



Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable business area is required. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Five years’ experience with Epic software.
  • Experience with workflow and operations within a hospital or health system.
  • Current certification in Epic Data Courier. Additional Epic certification is preferred.
  • Preferred 2 years’ experience with Epic software release management.
  • Preferred experience with Epic Change Management, including Build Migration and Release Authorizations
  • Preferred familiarity with Microsoft O365 (word, teams, etc.) and ServiceNow.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to understand business issues and objectives as well as the ability to translate them into application solutions.
  • Established experience with large scale/large projects with team of 5 or more members.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
