Kernel Engineering Manager Cupertino,California,United States Software and Services The CoreOS software team is looking for an exceptionally dedicated software engineering manager to lead kernel development for Apple products. This team is responsible for the development of new kernel features on all products, as well as evolving our software for new Apple Silicon platforms to contribute to the success of the iPhone, iPad, and Mac product lines among others. CoreOS works with many teams across the company to provide a stable, fast, and high-quality foundation on which iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS frameworks and applications can be developed. Description Leadership and management of a team of dedicated kernel engineers in a fast-paced and demanding development environment. Ownership of the kernel and other low-level software components. Creating and promoting a development environment that encourages innovation and sets high standards for quality and productivity. Identifying and mitigating risks in development activities. Strengthening the team by hiring and retaining diverse, top engineering talent. Minimum Qualifications Experience leading a systems software development team. Proven track record of successful and timely product delivery. History of setting bold yet attainable goals, and motivating teams to achieve them. Evidence of driving technical innovation. Key Qualifications Preferred Qualifications In-depth knowledge of and/or experience with kernel/OS internals. Experience with macOS device drivers and IOKit. Experience working with Linux/UNIX kernel. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
