Job Description: Scripting Developer (Perl/Shell/JavaScript) Location: Sunderland, UK Position Type: Full-Time, Onsite Experience Level: 3-10 years Salary Range: Up to £75,000 per annum Industry: BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) Employment Type: Long Term About the Company: ApexTechno is looking for a skilled and motivated Scripting Developer with expertise in Perl, Shell/Korn Shell, and JavaScript to join our dynamic team in Sunderland. This is an onsite role where the successful candidate will be expected to work from our Sunderland office five days a week. Any changes to this arrangement will be communicated promptly. About the Role: ApexTechno is looking for a skilled and motivated Scripting Developer with expertise in Perl, Shell/Korn Shell, and JavaScript to join our dynamic team in Sunderland. Responsibilities: Script Development: Develop, test, and maintain scripts using Perl, Shell/Korn Shell, and JavaScript to automate tasks and processes across various projects. Debugging: Write and debug code, ensuring high performance and responsiveness of the scripts developed. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate scripts into existing systems and workflows. Data Handling: Leverage experience with distributed storage systems, including DB2, Sybase/Sybase IQ, and MongoDB, to optimize data handling and storage solutions. CI/CD Integration: Participate in the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, focusing on automating code deployment using Git and related tools. DevOps Collaboration: Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and integration of scripts within Unix/Linux environments. Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve existing codebases, adhering to best practices in coding and deployment. Qualifications: Strong programming skills in Perl, Shell/Korn Shell, and JavaScript. Proven experience in writing, testing, and debugging scripts for various applications. Familiarity with distributed storage systems such as DB2, Sybase/Sybase IQ, and MongoDB. Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, with specific experience using Git for version control and deployment. Solid experience working in Unix/Linux environments. Required Skills: Experience in automating large-scale systems and managing distributed storage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
