Job Title: Platform Engineer (Kubernetes Specialist) Salary: £80,000 21% Bonus Location: Stevenage OR Bolton OR Bristol Working Pattern: Dynamic Hybrid Working (1-2 Days On-Site per Week) Security Clearance: Must be a British Citizen (Eligible for DV Clearance) The Opportunity: Are you an expert in Kubernetes and containerised solutions? Our client is looking for a highly skilled Kubernetes Engineer to join their well-respected and diverse team. You will play a critical role in deploying, securing, supporting, and enhancing containerised solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with internal customers, providing guidance on Docker and Kubernetes usage, creating reusable containerised solutions, and helping develop rapid application environments for testing and development. Responsibilities: Manage Kubernetes environments: Ensure the health, performance, and scalability of the platform. Container Strategy: Guide internal customers in discovering, adopting, and utilising Docker/Kubernetes best practices. Collaboration: Work with group IT and engineering teams to support containers for rapid application development and testing. Automation: Support wider automation initiatives within IT services, including deployment and configuration automation. Training & Workshops: Organise workshops to educate and enable colleagues on Kubernetes and containerisation. Capacity Planning: Future-proof the Kubernetes environment through effective capacity management. What We’re Looking For From You: Expertise in: Docker / Kubernetes / Rancher / Harbor / Helm / Nexus / Artifactory / Python / Gitlab / Ansible Proficiency with Linux OS: Strong command-line and scripting abilities (Bash, Python), especially within RHEL environments. Automation Skills: Advanced skills in Ansible for deployment and configuration automation. Security & Monitoring: Experience with security best practices, monitoring, and logging to ensure service continuity and platform health. Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address complex technical challenges. Communication & Collaboration: Excellent customer service, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills. Able to organise workshops to educate and support colleagues.
