About the Role : Are you a passionate Linux and OpenStack expert looking for an exciting new challenge? We are seeking a skilled OpenStack Site Reliability Engineer to join this prestigious, multi-national organisation that is central to the defence and security sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art technologies, ensuring the reliability and performance of software-defined data centres in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will take ownership of maintaining and managing OpenStack environments, supporting a highly skilled engineering team, and driving innovation within the organisation. Your expertise will help shape the future of software-defined data centres and automation technologies. Key Responsibilities : • Manage and maintain OpenStack environments, focusing on core components like Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, and Cinder. • Deploy and configure OpenStack systems using tools like Ansible and Terraform, ensuring environments are consistent, reliable, and secure. • Provide support for instance creation, end-user management, and rapid application development. • Monitor system performance, plan for future capacity, and address any issues to maintain continuity of service. • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless operation of OpenStack platforms and resolve any technical challenges. What We’re Looking For: • In-depth knowledge of OpenStack services, particularly Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder, and the Ceph storage platform. • Proficiency in Linux OS, with strong skills in scripting (bash, python) and command-line tools, particularly within RHEL environments. • Experience with deploying, configuring, and managing OpenStack environments using automation tools like Ansible and Terraform. • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools to maintain system health and performance. • A strong understanding of security best practices for managing OpenStack platforms. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
