Junior Network Administrator

JUNIOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR Our Edmonton based client is seeking a Junior Network Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational support to our client's network environment, with a focus on Cisco and Palo Alto technologies. This includes participating in and ensuring the completion of daily operational tasks such as monitoring network health, incident management, backup validation, patching, and more. RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor network health and performance to ensure optimal operation. Provide operational support for Cisco and Palo Alto network infrastructure components, including switches, routers, firewalls, and security appliances. Assist in incident management and resolution to minimize downtime and maintain service availability. Participate in change management processes to implement network changes in a controlled and documented manner. Conduct backup validation to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness. Collaborate with other team members to implement network security measures and best practices. Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference. Provide timely and effective communication to stakeholders regarding network issues and resolutions. QUALIFICATIONS : 2 years of relevant experience in system support, maintenance, and operational support roles, with a focus on supporting Cisco and Palo Alto environments. Working knowledge of Cisco and Palo Alto network infrastructure components, including switches, routers, firewalls, and security appliances. Familiarity with network technologies such as routing protocols (e.g., OSPF), WAN acceleration, MPLS, SDWAN services, etc. Cisco CCNP and CCNA certifications would be an asset 3 month contract to start (high possibility of extension) Rate: $35-$40/hour for an Incorporated consultant Hybrid work model: 3 days/week onsite If you’re interested, please reply with a copy of your updated CV.
