Job Title: Senior Data Engineer / System Engineer Location: Stevenage, UK (Hybrid working model - on-site presence required on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) Security Clearance: SC Clearance is mandatory Team: System Data Engineering / System Design Engineer Role Overview: As a Senior System Data Engineer / System Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting spacecraft programs by managing and processing technical data essential for spacecraft operations. You will work closely with various project stakeholders to ensure the integrity and accuracy of spacecraft telemetry, telecommand, and other essential data, contributing to the success of mission-critical operations. Key Responsibilities: Data Management: Oversee the management and processing of spacecraft telemetry and telecommand data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Spacecraft Reference Database (SRDB) Management: Work with the Spacecraft Reference Database (SRDB), which centralizes, controls, and configures technical data essential for spacecraft software development, satellite AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Testing), and operational engineering. Testing and Validation: Conduct end-to-end validation checks, run consistency checks, and perform basic code/script patches to ensure the accuracy and reliability of spacecraft data processes. Configuration Management: Maintain configuration consistency with related existing data, ensuring the database aligns with the processes. Database Verification: Verify the content of the SRDB, perform correlation of results, generate validation reports, and ensure that database outputs meet required standards. Documentation and Reporting: Update process documentation to reflect new tools and methodologies, and generate comprehensive validation reports. Post-Delivery Support: Provide support to end users, including issue analysis, bug fixing, and other post-delivery assistance as needed. Required Qualifications: Space/Defense Project Experience: Extensive experience working on space or defense projects, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges in these domains. Data Architecture Expertise: Proven experience in building, managing, and delivering data architectures for spacecraft, with a focus on telemetry and telecommand data handling. System Functional Verification: Experience in system functional verification on simulated test benches and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments. Software Knowledge: Understanding of software parameters and development, with the ability to perform basic code/script patches. Data Handling Protocols: Proficient in data handling protocols such as 1553, CANbus, CCSDS, and Packet Utilization Standards. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, particularly in database verification and validation processes. Desirable Skills: Harness Information: Knowledge of harness information, particularly the mapping of equipment functional interfaces, is a plus but not required. Why Join Us?
