Title: Software Engineer IV Job ID: EBAYJP00021679 Location: San Jose, CA-Remote Job type: Long term contract role with rolling extensions Day to Day Responsibilities of this Position and Description of Project: We are looking for a stellar full stack developer (including UX) who will be responsible for design, development and support of security tools used by security and application developers. These tools help securely release eBay's public facing product lines. The ideal candidate person will be a software developer with engineering experience working on Security attacks reduction through foundational product security fixes Job Requirements: - BSCS degree with 5-7 years of experience or an MS degree with 3 years of experience - Up to 5 years of related hands-on product development experience with web applications is required; some experience in secure DevOps space will be nice-to-have. - Strong Programming experience in development of user interface of web based tools (Node.js, React JS, Angular JS) - bility to build automation tools and REST API-s for security processes and web applications on Java (with Spring MVC) and familiarity with databases (MongoDB or Hadoop, noSQL, Oracle) is required. Knowledge of other languages like Python is a plus. - bility to deep dive into SAST/DAST scan data (from Appscan, Checkmarx) and logs to analyze for security gaps will be a major plus - Working experience with product development teams in a continuous delivery developer role is highly desirable. The developer is expected to be comfortable delivering in short sprints in an Agile framework - bility to clearly articulate issues and communicate in an effective and personable manner. - bility to determine risk based on context and adjust quickly to the security needs of a highly agile organization - Highly motivated developer to pick new skills as required and apply to delivery processes Will this candidate interface with IT and business teams? If so, which internal/external groups? Application Product Engineering Security Team: 14-member team Focus on security product and development- on the tech side, all product verticals use this team Would work in Security Dev Ops - security scanner tools and integration -CICD process and are built inhouse This person will need to be a good developer, if they have experience with Security that is great, but a great developer is more important (security skills are picked up on the job) Critical run time performance of utilities and components so the dev doesn't experience blockers Coding needs to be run into production allowing only 1 hour- very stringent timelines required for this job Security products- detecting of phishing, malware, API Mostly depending on the Java side in this role, Node.JS knowledge is nice to have 70% backend 30% front end needed
