Position Title: IT Security Analyst II Location: Edmonton, AB Type: Permanent, full-time About The IT Security Analyst II will play a critical role in supporting the development, sustainability, and operations of both cloud computing and on-premises network environments. The role reports to the Team Lead, Cyber Security, and involves designing, implementing, and managing security solutions across a complex technology landscape. This includes conducting risk and threat assessments, participating in security operations activities, and reviewing security architecture documents for projects across the organization. What You'll Do Troubleshoot and implement solutions for complex computing systems, with a focus on cloud platforms, Microsoft Teams, and other SaaS products. Collaborate with technical teams to enhance their understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) within their platforms. Develop new standards for Security, Incident Response, and SaaS/IAM to support organizational initiatives and adapt to technological changes. Conduct threat and risk assessments to proactively identify potential security vulnerabilities. Perform security reviews and audits based on established security configurations, policies, or procedures. Implement and maintain common security solutions in an enterprise environment. Support Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) efforts, including testing and updates. What You Bring A degree or diploma in a computer-related field, with some practical experience in Information Security. Expertise in Azure and Microsoft Teams security features and design, along with experience in cloud technologies, cloud service providers, and application design considerations. Familiarity with security technologies such as SIEM tools, Intrusion Prevention and Detection Systems, Endpoint Detection and Response Tools, Network Access Control (NAC) tools, web filtering products, and vulnerability scanning tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking abilities, combined with organizational and time management skills. Ability to effectively contribute to projects, proof of concepts, and provide security guidance. Ability to work independently to initiate and improve work processes, driving efficiency. Certifications such as CISSP and/or CISA are highly preferred.40 WPM typing speed is a bonus All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
