I am working on preferred domain setting in Google Webmasters tool . Should i use www with urls or without www ? which one is best as for as SEO is Concerned ?
I don’t think it matters, although I would wait for some other answers.
I think what matters is that you choose one, set up a redirect so that google does not see www and non www as duplicate content.
Yeah as far as I know it’s just down to personal preference but someone might know more than I do!
Personally I use without. Easier to remember, less effort to type etc
As far as SEO is concerned, it makes absolutely no difference – as long as both forms of the URL work and one is properly redirected to the other.
I prefer with. Some websites only work without the www, which is kind of bad.
People remember sites more with www. It is kinda became a rule already that sites must have www. Also, not all sites will work without www.
I check my website… if it is already indexed with www then I go for www and if it is indexed without www than I choose the other option. Just I keep one thing in mind that the other internal pages are also with the same. I mean —
if the domain is google.com the other pages should not be – www.google.com/blablabla etc… Makes the website look a bit dirty according to me. So only one advice from me, take the url with relevance to the inner pages.
But most of the Browser Provide short cut keys we just website name & press ctrl+enter to get www & .com so after listening From all of the expert here I will Go with Www.
I agree.
both http://example.com and http://www.example.com can be sometimes treated as 2 domains by some search engines and directories so it’s wise to 301 redirect http://example.com to http://www.example.com
It doesnt matter if you are using http//abc.com or http://www.abc.com. Both are good. But the main thing to keep in mind from SEO point of view is to use 301 redirection with both Domains. If you are using http://abc.com and some person is typing www.abc.com then make sure the domain redirected to http://abc.com. Because search engine considers http://abc.com or http://www.abc.com as 2 different domains and if you are building back links for http://abc.com then http://www.abc.com will not get benefit of those backlinks build for http://abc.com. So it is necessary to add 301 redirection either your are using http://abc.com or http://www.abc.com
