WP won't write all fields to database after migration

I inherited a WP site that is used to host .mp3 audio files, PowerPoint presentations, etc. for streaming and downloading. After migrating the site from another companies server to be hosted on our server the site will no longer write all fields to the database. I am able to create a new entry or event, edit the body of the page using html or visual editor. When I try to select a date or tag then update the page the default is returned, not updating the database. Any help is more than greatly appreciated!
