Would you pay for this new service?

Hi,

I am considering the creation of a new service.

Your feedback is much appreciated: would you use it if I create it, or not?

“What do I get?”

A photo-realisitic picture of your ‘virtual’ office. Meaning, a real life photograph of an office with your companys’ or websites’ name.

“Why would I want that?”

If you are an online business, you probably don’t need (or maybe can’t afford) a full time office. However, many potential clients of yours rapidly lose trust if they suspect you to be working from home. In business, perception is reality.

Nothing will reassure your potential clients that you are a serious business as A PICTURE OF YOUR OFFICE you can put in your website. There are virtual office address services, virtual receptionist services… etc. This will help you punch above your weight.

Benefits:

Inspire Trust
Raise Your Profile
Get More and Bigger Clients
Leave Your Online Competition Behind

“How does it work?”

Give me your logo (or url) and email (so I can get back to you). I will create a photorrealistic sign of your logo or url, and integrate it in a real life office photograph. It will

look like a real sign of your company in a real office.

“How will it look like?”

The point is to make it look something like this:

or this:

So again the question is:

Would you pay for a product like this?

If so, how much?

If not, would changing the model in some way make it worth your money?

Thanks for the feedback!!

I wouldn’t pay for it because it’s essentially a fraudulent claim. I don’t maintain an office and it would be a misrepresentation of my business to furnish a picture of an office, which is not a good idea.

Also, I’d watch out with your ‘in business, perception is reality’ claim. There are laws, lawyers, courts, and banks who would strongly disagree

I think you can find a better application for this service.

I agree with Sagewing. I work from home and I’m not ashamed to tell that to my clients. After all, they are hiring me… not my office decor.

I also work from a home office and agree with sagewing and shyflower. I’ve never felt the need to hide my work environment from my customers.

If you don’t have an office, simply target clients who don’t care, and make it a selling point, i.e. lower overheads=lower fees.

And if you want to target clients who expect you to have an office, get a real office and hike your fees up to cover the costs.

It’s a bit like sole traders referring to themselves as ‘we’ in their marketing. It doesn’t take people very long to realise you are not being completely honest with them; and where do you go from there?

Thank you everyone for the straightforward answers, it’s the feedback I was looking for. It sounds like this business model would not fly.

“I think you can find a better application for this service.”

Something to think about… maybe I can approach Virtual Office companies and they can include this in their package offering, or real sign creators to show to prospective customers before they buy the physical version…

Pivoting, pivoting, hum…

Thanks again.
