Would this be a fair price?

I am a novice web developer whose is just getting started. I’ve recently been given the chance to work with a small design firm for a small, non-profit project.

I’ve been asked to give a proposal, but I’m not sure what to charge.

It’s a very small project. The site mock up and graphics would be provided by the client, which just leaves me the task scripting and testing the markup. The deliverables would be in the realm of four or so pages, and this project will not require any javascript, flash, php, or the like.

What I’m most excited about though is that this project may lead to a internship position with this firm. So I want to make a good impression.

I figure that this project shouldn’t take me more than a dedicated day to accomplish, maybe less. The firm pays their interns $10/hr, so I leaning towards an estimate of $80. But like I said, I’m still a novice at this. Thoughts?

Makes sense. But if the money means little to you and the internship a lot more, even doing it for free could look good and show your enthusiasm for the job and the firm.

Thank you for your response. I’ve submitted my proposal and hopefully good new will be coming soon.
