WordPress for Review Website

Hi, I’m looking into having a review site built, is WordPress suitable for an advanced and large review site?

Do any large organisations use WordPress for anything other than blogs? I know there are many ways to use WordPress i.e. eCommerce, reviews, Forums sites etc, but do any big companies utilise this other side of WordPress or do the larger organisations fundamentally use the WordPress software for blogging and sometimes CMS?

WordPress is used by some of the biggest companies out there such as AllThingsDigital, ISEDB, SearchEngineLand, etc.
