I have an old site that needs some of the pages changed to CMS for the client.
I have developed Wordpress sites before, using the lower versions of wordpress as a CMS. I do understand the loop system. I have purchased the "Wicked Wordpress Themes" I do understand how to create thematic child themes for posts and pages using the various templates provided.
My problem is I already have the css files created for the old site and html using different div id's and classes from those used by the thematic theme templates.
Must I follow the same principles when creating a static page. I am planning to use taxonomy or custom fields too create the custom fields areas?
Or is it different because I already have the css and html? Must I just follow the old way of doing things before 3.01 came out ie. 2.4 versions?
Which would be best taxonomy or custom field plugin's.
If the pages had not already been create I would have no problem developing using the thematic page.php and customizing.
I would appreciate any advice on how to proceed.
