I own a company which produces Custom Car Magnets, primarily for School fundraising. We have several thousand images online, from previous orders, and the client normally searches for their school mascot, fills out a form, then we send back a “mockup” of their design…and try to wrap up the order at that stage.
So, very few orders are placed online. What we need is affiliates or CPA marketers to direct clients to the “Request Info” form.
The average order is about $600 – but obviously not all “Requests” result in Sales.
So would this even work for my product? If so, how much should I plan on spending for an “action?”
How much you spend per action should really be determined from your profit margins and how much you are prepared to spend on acquiring new customers - which would differ if your customers tended to turn into repeat customers or these are more one time sales.
You could offer commissions per sale (CPS) and so removing the risk for your advertising budget (and you would have to offer higher commissions), or you could offer commissions on a CPA basis where you pay commission for each user that fills in and submits the request more info form (this way some of the advertising risk would remain with you so you can offer lower commissions).
Obviously the commission rates need to high enough to attract publishers as well.
All of these factors are different for each business niche, so I don’t think I can help much more than that without a lot more info.
