Sorry you feel that way, but the alternatives are far worse - the amount of “fluff” and garbage posts which were made to get to their minimum post count for signatures was amazing (even worse than it is today).

Ok I’ll wait for 90 days for my signature links, then can i use my own two site links as a signature? when i can add my homepage url in my profile?

I think that if you can edit your profile and add your url right away. The only thing you can’t have right now is a signature. When you do, of course, you can add a link to you site. Just remember to follow the guidelines:

  • no adult sites
  • no affiliate links
  • no warez sites
  • no illegal stuff
    etc.

Basically, use common sense :slight_smile:

You get exposure. If you wow readers with your posts and the links are in the web dev niche, there is a chance they might go there. i.e. you get some traffic

Why nofollow? Unfortunately no matter how many times it was said, people just don’t get that forum links are essentially useless for SEO backlink purposes.

Forums don’t have any or little PR for Google because too many people posts there and too often spammers sing up to every single forum in the world to drop links all around. Even if they had any value, since the PR of a page is divided between the number of links of that page, with so many users you would get very little PR.

The only use you can have is when someone thinks that you’re intelligent and knowledgeable. Then, other members may click on your link to know more about you. In some circumstances, they may contact you to do the job because you’ve shown your expertise.
