Hi,
Back to Build your own database driven websites page 61 and 64. On page 61 in the third gray box at the bottom of the page on the fourth line is three dots stacked on top of each other. I used a semicolon and the command didn’t work.
Kevin does give options so I’m not stuck, but would like to know about this.
On page 61 of Build Your Own Database Driven…by Kenvin Yank in the text box at the bottom of the page, 4th line he has something that looks like 3 dots (periods) stacked on top of each other. Where is that on my keyboard?
AFAIK, those are not part of the code. It represents “missing code”.
For example, a code example will be shown, then later, a new line will be inserted. Rather than repeat all of the unchanged code, the “dot stack” represents code that was previously shown so as to not clutter and distract from the new code in the example.
The diagonal and vertical forms of the ellipsis are particularly useful for showing missing terms in matrices, such as the size-n identity matrix. Ellipsis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
