When I need assets from a client (like a photo, translations … ) I usually just send an e-mail and they respond with the requested asset.
However, when should you remind your client if you don’t get an answer. I don’t want to come over as a nag, but I also want my web projects to be finished on time.
Should I just send a reminder e-mail after a week?
You could send them a friendly message, reminding them that you’d really like to get the site finished and need the assets. Point out that you do have other clients, and if they’re not able to provide the assets for you to complete the work in the time you’ve allocated, they might need to wait until you can fit them in again. Don’t make it sound like a threat - just a statement of fact. It might just spur them into action.
