When I turned back on my monitor today, what’s displayed on screen is larger than my monitor’s size. I have to keep moving my mouse to the left to bring what’s on the left side of the screen so it’s viewable on my monitor. The same in every direction. How do I adjust so that what’s displayed fits into my monitor (ViewSonic VP290b) viewing space?
This seems like a simple answer but have you adjusted your settings to a higher resolution?
I’ve got a ViewSonic monitor too and this always happens to me when I reconnect my laptop up to it. No matter how many times I change my resolution it doesn’t do anything until I reboot, then when it reloads, all is right with the world again. I suggest the above as maverb stated but also a reboot might be in order…at least that’s my experience with this brand of monitor! Goodluck, keep us posted!
Which version of Windows are you using? From XP and onwards the resolution of each monitor can be set different. There is a button which when click will bring up a number on each connected screen, you can then click on the relevant screen in the dialogue box and set its resolution.
I agree with the above about the resolution being changed, could be accidental, could be a freak thing, easiest way to change the resolution is press and hold the CTRL button, then use the scroll wheel on the mouse, thats a quick way, the proper way is to go into the properties and reset the display to the correct size.
