What's a good price to sell scripts for?

I am going into the script selling business and generally I am thinking of keeping the price bar quite low but I don’t want to sell for less than what I am selling is worth or what people would be prepared to pay for scripts.

I know I don’t have any examples but if there were some good turnkey scripts for sale at $20 each would you think it was a reasonable price?

What would you pay?

It is like saying, what is a good price to sell software for? Or cars? Or houses?

It depends on the value If you have a very good quality script, complex, and provides value, you can sell it for thousands. Or hundreds of thousands.

Another way I could put it is what would be the fundamental rules for choosing a price range that would appeal the most to your intended market without undercutting your business by charging too little?

Echoing the others, what does it do?

If there are similar competing products, what do their prices look like? How much of a demand is there for them and for your product?

There are multiple scripts including file upload script and page rank script and others. I want to sell them each for the same price.

Did you write them personally? By hand? How much time did it take you to make and refine them?

Its going to be hard for someone to tell you what you should sell them for. You’re likely going to have to do some market research on your own. Look at prices other people are selling similar scripts for to get an idea. There a tons of script marketplaces that you can use to get a good idea…

Something you may want to consider when pricing your scripts for best ROI is packaging multiple versions, licensing, and if possible hosted solutions.

Also, it’s difficult to say how much you should charge when there are literally thousands of upload and pagerank scripts you can get for free.
