What video cards is working out-of-the-box for Ubuntu 16.04?

I’m trying to install Ubuntu 16.04 on my Windows 10 PC. I’m using HIS Radeon R7 240 2GB DDR5 now and I have terrible experience with it. Too many flickers and blank screen.

Do you have any good experience with a video card installing and using Ubuntu 16.04?

I mostly using my PC for SublimeText, Photoshop CS3, Full HD videos, and no games.

I’ve used Ubuntu on several different PCs with nVidia graphics cards and not had a problem with any of them. My current system is about five years old and is running Ubuntu 16.04 with nVidia GeForce 430.

I think you’re less likely to have problems if you’re not using the very latest hardware.
