As far I am understanding your question; you wanted to know is there is any impact of design for optimization. If technically you wanted to know answer it is NO, but there is a great impact of this. Don’t be confused - Design binds user to do specific action and to achieve goals of website, it is also responsible to reduce your bounce rate. user engagement, usability, sharing and getting references by other people naturally is also achieved by this.
Proper navigation, presentation of images and videos load time of your web pages for all design is responsible.
