What is the difference between PR and PA?

What is the basic difference between PR (Page Rank) and PA (Page Authority) and technically for which of them one should be more concern?

PageRank is a metric developed by Google, which they still use, but which they place far less importance on than previously. Google themselves have for years advised webmasters against becoming obsessed with PageRank over more important considerations.

PageAuthority is a metric devised by moz.com, and therefore not used at all by search engines. It may or may not be useful as an indication of how well your site is performing. (I don’t know, because I’ve never used it.)

My advice would be to forget about chasing metrics and concentrate your efforts into something more productive, such as creating a great site with excellent content.

The Page in each is a reference to something completely different.

With Page Rank the Page is a reference to Google founder Larry Page and has nothing whatever to do with web pages. It is named after the person who created the original algorithm.
