What is the default font size on this website?

Hi from still chucking it down puddle city York UK

On this website https://visityork.nmdemo.net/eat-and-drink there is a feature on the images where text appears. I’m trying to work out the default font size (it look too small). I think its 16px.

Highlighted in yellow is what I’m talking about.

So my question is… “Am i right is the default font size from the CSS 16px and why does it look tiny on my browser yest slighter bigger on another browser?”

Thanks in advance,
David

Yes it appears to be 16px.

Have you changed your zoom settings on your browser by mistake? This is the common answer as users don’t realise that some browsers remember zoom settings sites visited even if they’ve triggered the font size change in error.

In windows there are also other settings that could have an effect such as dpi and large font settings but I doubt you have changed those.

You also have a custom font so that could be an issue if your browser hasn’t managed to download that font.

Also there is always a difference between font-sizes on different systems (mac, pc and ios etc) so they will never look exactly the same.

I would first check your zoom level.

What browsers are you using to test the font size? Remember that Firefox allows the user to zoom (larger and smaller) text only.
