Good post. I have a similar problem.
Some of my posts are extremely popular, I did a good job of promoting them on DZone, DotNetKicks, Reddit and similar resources. But for instance, people prefer to comment to my stories on Reddit instead of commenting in my blog.
Any ideas?

The right way to get comment on your blog is to create quality contents.Its contents should be unique and informative.Moreover if you want their feedback you can finish off your post by saying .DO you agree with this give your feedback or any suggestions.
One thing try to put informative blog in your blog site and Other thing is try to do SEO for that blog. You will get popularity.

First try to comment on other blogs using your url. Then automatically you will get comments in your blog
Make sure that your article is interesting enough to make people comment on it. Or you can also end your article with a question.

I will suggest write about the controversial topic, or against the tide…if everyone is writing great review of say Avatar…go ahead and abuse Avatar…people will come to your blog to abuse…but anyway you will get comments…
Look first of all u need to comment on other’s blog,it may help u .Probably they may revert back with a reply to ur blog,whether negative or positive.
The second thing is if ur blog appears in top results of search people are certainly going to comment on it.

hi, to make people do comment on your blog you should write your blog interesting or set a discussion to talk something useful.
comment on other people’s blog. they might get interested in your blog. and most bloggers comment back as a favour. try this trick. works well for me
That’s what my #3 tip above well this thing really works well for me too. The objective is to make strong and long lasting relations with other bloggers there are some commentators on my blog who just comment but don’t continue discussion which eventually loose the grip of blogging relation.
Make friends to some blog owners, post a comment on their blog site and wait to them reply to your comment.
