What is the best Logo size

What is the best way to size a logo that will go on everything (websites, SM, van, etc.)? Should I scale up the size before design for future bigger printouts or keep it at SM/website sizes?

IMO a normal logo should be created as .svg, then you do not have to care about the size. As it is vector-based and is always sharp regardless of size.

The best logo size depends on its use. For websites, 250x100 pixels works well. For social media, a square size like 400x400 pixels is ideal. Always use scalable vector files for versatility.

Especially when dealing with SVG’s and printed output (as you mention a van…) be mindful of the output and composition.

While an SVG will be “always sharp”, the capabilities of printers will reduce that; as well, while small text may be fine on a website youre viewing at a distance of 12 inches, it may not be fine at a distance of 10 feet from a vehicle, etc. Keep your logos similar to flags, if youre going to use them similarly.

The best approach is to design your logo as a vector graphic (e.g., SVG or AI format). Vectors are resolution-independent, allowing seamless scaling for all uses from websites and social media to large prints without losing quality. Export specific sizes as needed but always retain the vector file for future adjustments.

It is important to consider the use of the logo when determining the best logo size. A logo for a website usually measures 250 x 100 pixels. A profile picture for social media should be square, usually 400 x 400 pixels. Scalability is ensured by a high-resolution vector file. Ensure that all platforms are as clear and readable as possible.
