How it differs from blogging?

Users can exchange the small content such as short sentence or links with in the character limit.
Micro blogging - from the name itself, you can derive that its miniature version of blogging. You can post small stories, news and events, but you are limited with space.
Its almost similar to bookmarking, but has more benefits.
Twitter is probably the most popular example of a microblog. Each post must fit within 140 characters.
Micro-Blogging is where you can describe something in a relatively short sentence & the main examples of this are Twitter, Identity etc where you write in 140 or more sentnce.
Twitter, plurk, scribd, identi.ca are micro blogging websites which have only 140 characters only to share
Microblogging is a networking service that allows mobile users of cell phones and other Internet connected devices to stay updated of activities within a group by receiving frequent published updates, typically of 140 characters or less. Text messages are uploaded to a microblogging service such as Twitter, Jaiku and others, then distributed to group members.
