What is aggresive link building and is there any right manner to do it to save time with rapid ranking results?

I have working for some clients, eager to get higher ranking within a short span. so we need to build links in large scale within a tight schedule. I just want to know in what extend this method should be followed?

To no extent.
Google notices if links are built too quickly and sees it as as suspicious. It will likely do more harm than good.

As @SamA74 says, don’t do it.

Any links intended to manipulate PageRank or a site’s ranking in Google search results may be considered part of a link scheme and a violation of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. This includes any behavior that manipulates links to your site or outgoing links from your site.

Read Google’s full article on link schemes, and then you’ll be able to explain to your client why this is a bad idea and not something they should be pursuing. https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66356?hl=en

I would tell them if it was that easy to get to the top of the rankings do you not think everyone would do it? Explain what you have done though to build in decent SEO which will over time see a return.

Yes, this logic is incorrect.

It assumes that blasting SPAM links will improve SERP position.

Though the tactic may have had some validity many years ago, and some may want others to think it still does so they can profit from the misconception, what is most likely to happen now is that

The site will be removed from the SERPs

It’s also a very short-term solution. Blasting links for will only work (if at all) for so long, but once google find you out, they’ll ban you from search engine rankings which will ultimately harm the website much more than helping it. It is also extremely difficult to get unbanned as there are a lot of hoops to jump through.
