Hosting email clients are poor, squirrel, roundcube etc plus you have to usually go to url/webmail. What advice would you give to a client that couldn’t afford G suite? Any decent free solution?
Cheers

I disagree that apps like Squirrelmail, Roundcube are poor, yes they are pretty basic but they excel at reading and replying to email which is what most want to do - we’ve got plenty of clients who have used them quite happily for years.
There are plenty of email solutions - our larger clients tend to use Office/Outlook, but smaller clients are quite happy using their OS’s default mail apps on Windows or Mac, both are included with the OS so incur no extra cost. Looking further afield Mozilla Thunderbird is free to use.
I would be interested into why they might be considered “poor”.
Personally, I have not had problems using SquirrelMail. Though for the purpose of consolidating I have them forwarded to my main email address so that everything is in one inbox.
I’ve used ZOHO zmail before.
It’s very similar to Google Apps and has a free plan option.
Give it a go.
We use Office 365. It costs half GA.
